Discuss a unique marketing strategy used to promote the Lego movie (refer to audience appeal)-
. world first- channel, time, program
. intextuality
. past moderernite
. primary + secondary advice appeal
. shot types
. diegetic/non diegetic sound
The unique marketing strategy that the Lego movie and WarnerBrothers teamed up on to promote the movie was an excellent idea because it was a world first. On Sunday 9th February 2014 at 7.27pm- 5 days before the Lego movie was released- On dancing on ice, ITV produced an ad break maden entirely out of Lego. Within this break all the adverts were made out of Lego in which there was 4 adverts in this break and they were The British heart foundation, confused.com, BT and Premier inn. This was an unique but clever idea because dancing on ice was a very popular TV show at the time in Britain and because of this they knew that teenagers, adults and parents were most likely going to be watching dancing on ice and they knew that if those generations were to watch this whole ad break they would hopefully reconsider their decision on going to watch the Lego movie. In the adverts there was most likely an advert that would appeal to any gender or age.
